Backstory
There is more to life than just waiting to see what tomorrow will bring. These are Kodosu’s earliest memories of his childhood as well as the last time he saw his brother Ginoro Minoro. The next day he would begin his eternal life as a fisherman, catching fish from the shores of Limsa until he was finally allowed to board a ship to fish into deeper waters. One of the small prizes he obtained to break the monotony of his life.
At the age of 14, Kodosu realized this was the exact reason why his brother left him. He was tired of waiting for something to change, waiting for the day that his life would finally begin. The goddess Llymlaen was never going to steer him into a better future. It was up to him to steer his own ship and find his own meaning in the world.
He would drain funds from his daily profits and hand over the remainder to his parents. With each passing day, he slowly accumulated Gil to afford several private lessons with a tutor in order to learn how to read and write. Eventually, the lessons were enough for him to begin teaching himself, and then he would move on to his main goal, becoming an arcanist.
He really didn’t care what he had to become, he just wanted to find something that would help him move away from his current life. Practicing until the early morning he found something that he would never forget. It was a crack on a boulder and a sensation of control emanating from his fingertips. That was the day he finally discovered his future.
Personality
Friendly - Every new person, is a new story and a new perspective on his life. He enjoys hearing others' tales and incorporating their knowledge into his own. He enjoys companionship as well as forming close bonds with those he respects. Kodosu holds those who treat him well close to his heart and would give anything to ensure they live a happy and fruitful life.
Socially Incompetent - A exhausted candle swivels against the cold ocean area while the bookworm traced each letter scattered across his tomes. The majority of his life was spent stowed away and he never really had much of an interest to interact with others when there was just so much to learn.
Passionate - He is glad to have escaped from his life as a fisherman and even the more mundane things seem fantastical to him. He knows that he is no longer waiting to see what tomorrow brings but experiencing the joys of life today. It is that love of life that makes him come across as a fervent effigy of emotion.
Self Centered - Forsaking the path that his family laid before him, Kodosu lived for only himself for the longest time. It has only been recently where he realized how terrible he has been. His selfishness comes from his ignorance rather than his lack of empathy. He cares for those around him but he sometimes forgets to see through other people’s perspectives as he is too preoccupied with his own.
Foolish - There is so much to learn and he appreciates those who are willing to teach him. He recognizes that there is much that he does not know and possible that the foundation of knowledge he sits on may be incorrect. He allows himself to be swayed by the thoughts and opinions of those he surrounds himself with. While they are a few things he refuses to let go of, he can be convinced easily on most things. He trusts that people have the best intentions for him and would only point out his errors if they are sure about the situation.
Workaholic - The words scattered on the pages and the numbers dancing at the edge of his vision. The work keeps coming and the pages keep turning. There is always so much to learn but never enough time. He does it because he loves discovering the tiny secrets embedded in parchment. He tries to limit himself but he uses the same old excuse: Just one more page.
